This is the first wing of the Okie Air Force, which was
formed to escort the OAF SR-71 Blackbird on it's mission. The A-10 is tasked to escort the SR-71 to Oshkosh and the Dayton, Ohio air museum, then to return
to Eastern Oklahoma
The Okie
Air Force
The first wing of the Okie Air Force was formed in
2004, and the original mission is for the birds to escort the SR-71 Blackbird
to fly by the National Museum of the
United States Air Force near Dayton, Ohio
to visit his full
size buddy. Then off to Oshkosh, WI
to begin a barnstorming tour of different airfields, and concluding with a flight
back to the LostTexans mothership
in Oklahoma and retirement with
honors. The initial wing consists of the Blackbird, an F6F , an
F-16 , and
an A-10
.
Recent added to the first wing is an F-35 JSF and
an F-22 Raptor.
