A shared First to Find with hugefunk after a whirlwind evening of crossing high water creeks, solving puzzles, and climbing over rocks. We had a great night, including meeting the CO for the first time and we all hiked out in the pitch dark.

A Rocky Relationship

The whole day was memorable but this cache was the highlight of the day as I got to watch 3brothersbrigade do his monkey impersonation - I took pictures to blackmail him as his wife would not like what he did at all!

Another Apple Tree

My most eventful cache.....jumped over a copperhead snake on the trail, slipped on a rock and seriously gouged my leg, sprained my ankle, and to finish it all got stung by a yellow jacket. The cache was awesome - especially the last stage which is a unique spot to say the least. Why do I always get hurt on flaffle hides? 

Anyway You Want It

Probably our all time favorite cache...and its only two miles from our house. The best part about this cache is that we solved it as a family with all four of us finding at least one stage. Cache includes some great stages and a few tricks as well. A must do for all local cachers.

GEOBOx

We had to include this one in our list as we put more man-hours into this cache than any other one. Three of us searched about 4.5 hours total to find the right shell....which we walked by about 25 times. I could not believe it when I found it...we were so close the whole time.

The best field puzzle ever.......period. Had a lot of fun working with my son to solve the puzzle and make the find. Had a lot of fun hiking...I mean bushwhacking... around Middle Creek in the heat of summer.  

Jefferson Disk Cipher

An Easter hike that included a true adventure climbing down a rocky hill with two kids and a teenager in tow. A great view of the river and a tough find as well.

Lockport

Whenever you look for a cache three times it will probably be a memorable cache. Stage 1 caused me all kinds of grief - even had a huge black snake help me look for the elusive rock. Got to cache with Don't Panic and we slowly finished this cache - stage 2 was almost as bad as stage one - it was definitely wetter. 

LOST81 (4.5/4.5) Walk Don't Run

Another great andguest cache. It took us two trips, a tip from a friend, and a lucky find on stage 2 when we were about to give up. We also survived three falls - one by Emma off a rock ledge, one by Luke in a big hole on the trail, and one by Dad off a tree 10 feet above the creek. The final stage is worth the hole process - a truly awesome cache adventure.

Lou Draws A Blank

A great day of caching with friends included this one with its devilish puzzle that took me a long time to solve. The stages were all interesting and on theme - the second proved most eventful as flaffle put her ballet training to good use. Our technique is definitely not the way too climb a tree....

Lou's Cipher

A second to find to remember.....a major bushwack all through Governor Dick including climbing over many downed trees and huge boulders. After reaching Ground Zero I had to contort my body to make the find which was right by a nest of hungry mosquitoes. Also ripped my shirt and lost a trackable there - found the travel bug but the shirt is now rags.

Mountain Dew

The running joke is that I always get hurt on flaffle hides...and it started with this one. My son and I were trying for a first to find and we were looking all over the place, until I slipped on some wet rocks and bruised my elbow and uh...backside. I was so close to the cache, but it eluded me and we settled for a third to find later - in fact I made the find the second time without even turning my GPSr on. 

NOM NOM NOM

The first time here was a lot of fun with papa snapdragon and 3brothersbrigade....so when we were in the area with Okmaddad we had to stop. Of course we forgot to bring flashlights and my phone had almost no battery left but we eventually found the well hidden cache.  

PB Spelunking Redux

Just look at the number of favorites this cache has and you know it is good. I appreciate the time and effort spent on the hide - it is just really cool. 

Raiders of the Lost Cache

Anytime I do caches with family and friends it is special...so to have my two kids, two nieces, and two cousins along to do some hiking and caching is the pinnacle. Great memories here. 

Rooster Laid A Golden Egg-The Proof

We biked about 2 miles to this cache on the old railroad bed after Emma fell on her bike and busted open her knee. Luke found the cache after walking through grass taller than he was....to his Mom's chagrin. First to find the cache in almost 16 months and we saw some beaver swimming in a small pond on the long ride back....all uphill.

S & NY - Cold Spring Station

If you read my log you know why this one is an all time favorite. Great cache - especially the locations. Plus being with my son makes it even more special. Then showing the cache stages to cruse000 and dentaldazy was satisfying and the start of a caching friendship. 

Simple Creature

To celebrate the last day of school I hiked the MD trail to make this find.....it was a neat puzzle but the hike to the last stage was one to remember. I lost the trail on a switchback on the way up the hill and bushwacked up the entire way - not fun at all. Got to see the cool passage and made the find relatively easily....the views are spectacular. After working all day the hike back was .....to be brief....long.

I had been planning on doing this cache for so long - making the trip with 3brothersbrigade and my kids made a great adventure that we will not forget. Great memories. 

Thousand Steps Cache

On an epic cache run with philflyboy and levidan, this the last cache of a great day caching in VA and WV.  We sat had to use a PAF but the result was awesome - this is my kind of light pole cache!! Great times!
