Logistics: Oxley Nature Center's Interpretive Building's pollinator garden is nearby, but you will not need to step on any garden plants. Check the terrain rating. A "one" on the terrain rating means it is wheelchair accessible.
If you visit during the Nature Center's open hours (8 am - 5 pm), you may park at the Nature Center's parking lot. The Interpretive Building is open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10 am-4:30 pm. We all hope the City of Tulsa's hiring freeze will thaw enough to bring the staff back up to levels that will let the building be open on Sundays and Mondays again. If you want to visit outside regular hours, you'll have to park out in Mohawk Park, outside Oxley Nature Center's main gate.
Remember, Mohawk Park's gates open at 7 am and close at 9 pm! On weekends, April 1 - October 31, you'll need to bring $2/vehicle to enter Mohawk Park, unless you are a member of Friends of Oxley Nature Center or Zoo Friends. Pets are not allowed on the Nature Center trails, but leashed ones can enjoy other parts of Mohawk Park (if you want to include a 4-legged geocacher, you might want to do "Green" Country at N 36 12.956' W 095 53.506'.)
Note: if you enjoy caching in Tulsa Parks, call or email or write your City councilor and tell him that you believe funding for parks is an important part of the City budget. If you are from out-of-town, be sure to let your local administrators know how much value you place on your hometown parks. When budgets get tight, fiscal support for parks is one of the first items cut.
