Last weekend was the campout event
A.J.A.C.S. 3rd Annual Campout Event Cache and we had a chance
to take Zwemmer out to see some amazing parts of Arizona including
him joining myself and AzCachemeister to hunt for RTW-2. Yesterday
we had the CITO event:
Alamo Wash CITO - Part Sept and when that was completed we had
company come over to tell stories and swap lies about geocaching.
While enjoying the company we also made a mob run to Millers
Surplus to pickup more ammo cans and we made plans for what to do
on Sunday, today. As luck would have it, we now have an ammo can
that needs to be hidden. heheh imagine that!
Off we head in the early morning hours and adventure our way up
the back side of the Catalina's. I had looked at this area before
with the thought of a cache, but did not have one with me then.
Today, we carried the required items in and played our little
hearts out.
Some people have made noise that our caches are either a
Difficult hike, or a Difficult puzzle. When then!@!@! Rest assured
this is neither!!! The cache is AT the posted
coordinates and the hike is on fairly flat terrain with a trail
leading almost the entire way.
Round trip from the _closest_ trailhead is just under 1km (yep
Zwemmer is rubbing off on me). Near the cache location you can
choose the high road -the route we returned by- or the low
road -our route in-. The low road can increase the terrain
to a 2 or 2.5 - high road keeps it around 1.5.
The _closest_ access to the trail is N 32 26.941 W 110
44.244 and you can park on the other side of the road in the
camp site.
When you are near the cache, your safe and secure but if you
drift downhill, please note the sudden change in elevation and keep
the tiny ones on a short tether. We had the kids climb up with us
after admiring what is down below but some folks are a bit more
jumpy about children and hill sides then I am.
Cache is an ammo can in/under a tree. I would suggest you think
highly and strongly before you leaned on this tree. You will see
what I mean upon arrival. heheh Enjoy the waterfalls and the rocks.
The cactus were very pretty and the area was very quiet. Nobody
else around for miles..
We look forward to your logs and the stories of your
adventure.

long ways further along the trail
