Geocache Description:

An enjoyable 2+ mile round-trip hike with a fun reward.

I have been thinking about setting up a DVD and CD exchange geocache for a while. Finally, I have found the right spot.

However, I need you fellow cachers' help to make this work.

1) Please park your vehicles in the parking lot, not on the street. Coordinates provided as a waypoint, below.
2) To get to Stage One, STAY ON THE GRAVEL TRAIL!!! (Stage Two rules will be intuitive to most geocachers with more than 10 finds.)
3) Observe all "Private Property" or "No Trespassing" signs. MapQuest and the other mapping websites are incorrect about entire area being part of the park. If you stay on the gravel trail (Rule #2), there will not be a problem. (visit link) This link is a more accurate map of the preserve.
4) Leave at least 1.5 hours to complete the cache AND observe the closing times of the park (5:30 p.m. Oct-Mar and 8:00 p.m. Apr-Sept)
5) This is a DVD&CD exchange type cache. Please trade appropriately. No bootlegs or homemade copies.
6) There are a few normal trade items, just in case you forgot. Travel Bugs and Geocoins are always welcome.

Stage One is a micro leading to the main cache. Please return Stage One to its original hiding spot. Thank you.

I enjoyed the hike while trying to place this cache, and I think bird lovers will be thrilled with it. I found not only the normal songbirds, but a good variety of waterfowl (including a heron keeping a close eye on me), a couple of well-fed raptors, and a small woodpecker I am not familiar with.
