Cache at a scenic spot on Sturgeon River where a dam existed, but now is back to nature's original beauty.
This cache is at a public location along the Sturgeon River where dam that was built in the early 1920's, was removed and the river returned back to it's orginal state. In the area where the cache is there used to be a dam, a power house with a single tubine, and a caretaker's house........all gone now.
This cache helps explain "The Wanderer"cache further up river. The place where the Wanderer cache is used to be the boat landing for the backwaters behind the dam.
This dam area is an easy .33 mile walk from the parking area. There is a gate at the parking area, however if you read the signs you can follow the trail up to the site of the dam. The signs also explians and gives a history of what happened in the area.
The original cache contents: a log and pencils, can cooler, toy binoculars, 3 hakey sacks, a non-trackable geo coin, spider man, belt buckle and some lapel pins.
