How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The actual cache is not at the above co-ordinates, although this is a good place to park. It is hidden at S 30.AB.CDE E 151.FG.HIJ To discover what the letters stand for, read below. (The difficulty rating is based on the effort to acquire a copy of the book and read it, not finding the actual cache)
To find the correct coordinates, you must answer the following questions from the story. (I have included the relevant chapter for each question if you just want to browse for the answers, but it is more fun to be a guest at Netherfield and Pemberley for a day or two instead)
A. Who is the tallest of the Bennett daughters? (Chapter 2)
B. According to Elizabeth, who is always surpised by compliments? (Chapter 4)
C. Who did Bingley dance with first at the Meryton assembly? (Chapter 5)
D. According to Miss Bingley, who despises cards?(Chapter 8)
E. Who writes to Mrs Bennett to ask for a carriage to be sent to Netherfield? (Chapter 12)
F. Who plays backgammon with Mr Collins? (Chapter 14)
G. Who dances the first two dances with Elizabeth at the Netherfield Ball? (Chapter 18)
H. Who does Mrs Gardiner think the more handsome - Wickham or Darcy? (Chapter 43)
I. Who is Elizabeth's third visitor at the Inn at Lambton? (Chapter 44)
J. Which Bennett sister first learns of Jane's engagement? (Chapter 55)
Once you know the answer to each question, simply replace the letter for that question in the coded coordinates with the number assigned to that person according to the list below
1 = Jane 2 = Elizabeth 3 = Mr Bennett 4= Lydia
5= Mr Collins 6 = Mrs Bennett 7 = Charlotte
8 = Bingley 9 = Darcy 0 = Wickham
Please note: the cache is NOT hidden on or at the prominent building near the parking coordinates, or the stone wall around it. Please enjoy these structures but do not dislodge any stones around them as you will not find the cache and only damage the structures. I wonder if they would mmet with Lady Catherine's approval?
