Geocache Description:

New container as of Dec 8, 2011. You are looking for a small, container about 1" in diameter and 5" long. Bring your own pen or pencil. The cache is across the street from Mount Pisgah.


FTF prize is a bison tube which can be used to place another cache.

New Jersey's 300 sites on the Women's Heritage Trail are scattered throughout the state. Several are located nearby in south Jersey.

Mount Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church is where Jarena Lee addressed congregants in the 1820s. Her remains are buried in the church's cemetery.

Jarena Lee was the first female preacher of the African Methodist Episcopal Church of America. Approved to preach by Bishop Richard Allen, she spent many years walking the entire country, preaching the gospel.

The church celebrated its 215th anniversary in December, 2007 reflecting on its historical past and looking forward to the future. It was once known as Snow Hill Church and is one of the oldest churches in the borough. Early members met in the home of a borough woman before establishing its permanent home in 1792

Be careful parking and watch for traffic which can be quite busy during morning and afternoon rush hour.
