Geocache Description:

A micro hidden near to Wrexham's Belle Vue park with a fine band stand, tennis courts and play area.

A little corner of Wrexham where the stones from an old Victorian graveyard have been reset into the flag stones. This graveyard had been the main Wrexham cemetery before the present one on Ruabon Road was opened. It became overgrown and sometime between 1958 and 1962, the jungle was cleared and most of the gravestones were removed and set on end against the wall. Others were used as paving. Paths were constructed, and a shelter at the Victoria Road end, and the perimeter wall was lowered. The idea was to create a "Garden of Remembrance", but it never caught on among respectable citizens. It has always been a slightly dodgy place, and remains overlooked for the most part.

Many thanks to cacher Milltir Gerrig for this local history - he went to Victoria Park school adjacent to this cache and remembers how it used to be. What an amazing thing caching is - now I can add local research tool to the list!

The cache is a 35mm film container, and also contains the Grundstellung to MARCHES ENIGMA 5 - FINAL. Please be aware of muggles as this is an urban caching location, and replace the cache exactly as found.
