Geocache Description:

Shire’s Treasure #12 takes you to Illawong, which is an Aboriginal word meaning between two waters, referring to the Georges and Woronora Rivers. Illawong was originally inhabited by the Tharawal and/or Eora tribes who left remnants of their lives in many middens, rock carvings and cave paintings.

The cache is located at a small bay called Wearne Bay. Nearby is a scout hall and a launching ramp going in the Gorges River.

When retrieving this cache please be careful of the mangroves and watch out for the crabs.
