Geocache Description:

The cache is near the start of the Lost Cabin Trail in Malibu Creek State Park.

Malibu Creek State Park is one of the crown jewels of the Santa Monica Mountains. Its rugged mountains formed the backdrop for the movie and TV show M*A*S*H. The park is very popular, in part because of it's beauty, but also because of it's many very easy hiking and mountain biking trails.

The Lost Cabin Trail joins Crags Road, the main trail that winds through the park, a few hundred feet from the site where M*A*S*H was filmed. There are still relics of the filming in place today. The Lost Cabin Trail runs along a narrow valley with the beautiful Goat Buttes to the north-east. There is another cache near the end of this trail, GCWQV5 "Judy's Cabin" (visit link) .

This cache is not far from the back door to the park at the west end of Crags Rd and marked by cache GC1PMMH "Crags Road Trailhead P & G" (visit link) .
