Geocache Description:

Acheronta springs
A lost of a mobile telephone was the reason in order to put this cache. The lost of the mobile forced us to visit this region for a second time within 2 days. The first time we visited this area hunting the crypt Acherontas river (GC1MHME). After the finding of the cache we left the area for go to Parga where another crypt was in our hunting plans. We thought that with a half an hour walk on the path over the river and the view of the gorge we had seen all the things that has to offer this region. Big mistake!!! The really beauty of the region we discovered the next day when we had more time to spend. We walked in the shores of the river but also into the river, we saw the sources of the river where spring out big quantities of water through the ground. We discovered a splendid space of amusement, we take a rest and drink some coffee next to the river, we learned for the splendid path Skala Tzavelenas - Ntala's Bridge - Plateau of Souli (Samoniva)(In Greek) (In English) where we plan to walk in one of our next excursions. The region is also suitable for outdoor activities, including rafting on the Acheronta River as well as horse-riding and trekking along its banks and you will found locals clubs and trainers to help you. In order to do not lose therefore this beauties, and other colleagues geocachers that will visit the region we decided to put still another crypt after we believe that this area worth to have more than one crypts. Have fun and enjoy the area. The Cache It is a plastic cylinder that contain logbook, pencil and stash note that we please to not remove, some trade items and an FTF award for the first finder.
