Geocache Description:

Near to the 'Heritage Beech', but as for the BUG....

If you were looking at your homepage of caches with pride and a certain smugness at the neat row of red ticks next to each and every cache found, but... what’s this? a new cache appears on the block, and with a silly name!

If you read this with a smile on your face, and nod your head at some of, or all the points below then you may be suffering from the GEOCACHER'S BUG.

1. Do you drive along with friends in the car, pointing out that there’s a treasure box on top of that hill, or down that valley, with them looking on thinking that their friend has finally flipped and should be sectioned….quickly!

2. At the end of the Christmas office party do you quietly gather up all the discarded cracker toys and puzzles for your swap box, or raid your own kid’s toy boxes?

3. Are you strangely drawn towards the shelf in your local supermarket with the click top boxes, and check to see if they measure up to your ideas of the perfect cache box?

4. When you visit a historic monument or famous place, rather than taking it all in, do you start thinking ‘I wonder if there’s a cache here, and where is it?’ and then reach for your nearest connection to the internet, just to see if …

5. Do you sense that your partner or the kids are not as keen as they used to be, to climb through those woods and up hills looking for a cache, and ask why they can’t just stay at home and watch the TV?

6. You go to pick up your coat and the dog lead to take the dog for a walk, and you notice that the dog is watching to see if you pick up your GPS receiver…and when you do, he lets out a little whine. How does the dog know and does he have the bug too?

7. When you arrange to visit a far away long lost friend or member of the family, do you first check Geocaching .com to see what are the local caches, and will you have time to sneak off and grab one.

8. Because we spend hours using multi-billion pound satellite systems, to find a £ 2.50 plastic box hidden in the woods, just to sign the log?

9. When this cache appeared did your heart rate quicken a little, because maybe, just maybe you could be ‘the first to find!’

If these points ring true with you, then it looks if you have got Geocacher’s Bug. There is no known cure, but doing this one will at least complete you homepage, and scratch a bit of a Geocacher's itch. This cache was set up to celebrate our 100th cache find (Yes, we have the Bug too!), Good Hunting!

P.S. This cache was placed with kind permission of the Woodlands Trust and is near to the public footpath as requested by the wardens of Lineover Wood. Not far from the cache is the 'Heritage Tree', a 400 year old beech tree thought to be the third oldest in the UK.

We have placed the cure to Geocacher’s Bug for TFTF in the cache box.

P.P.S. Parking can be found at N 51 52.491, W002 01.252.
