gotta run: Got a field report that this cache is indeed missing. Since it's highly unlikely that this box in the middle of nowhere would be accidentally found, we will assume it was targeted for theft and will therefore not be replacing it.

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache located in the Navarino Wildlife Area, along the banks of the Wolf River. You are looking for an ammo can.

The cache awaits...

As the Wolf River winds its way through the Navarino Wildlife Area, it fills various flowages in features that resemble tails from aerial photographs and topo maps. This cache is located on the banks of the river, about 3/4 mile walk one-way from parking, and about a 3/4 mile away from each of the other two caches in this area. There is no real trail: you will find a trailhead in the parking lot that will get you on the right track, but it only goes so far and then you're on your own.

This is one of a series of paddlin' caches located on a 7-mile stretch of the Wolf River that flows through the Navarino Wildlife Area. Do one, two, three, or more. Several boat launches are available; see cache GC2BK94 for waypoints. Get the canoe or kayak: motorized boats not recommended unless you really know the ins and outs of this stretch of river, which features numerous sand bars and downed trees.

Caches in the Paddlin’ Power series include:

Nettle Fields
Eagles’ Run
Channel Knoozin’
Wolf’s Tail
