Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES, but you will need to go to the posted coordinates using your GPSr to start looking for the cache. Read the cache description for directions. This is a Letterbox Hybrid cache. Do not take the stamp in the cache.

This is one of a series of paddlin' caches located on a 7-mile stretch of the Wolf River that flows through the Navarino Wildlife Area. Do one, two, three, or more. Several boat launches are available. Get the canoe or kayak: motorized boats not recommended unless you really know the ins and outs of this stretch of river, which features numerous sand bars and downed trees.

Kayaking + Canoeing = Knoozin'

The posted coordinates will bring you to the mouth of a channel on the Wolf River that we'll call Channel Sometime. Although on a topographic map it shows as a navigable channel, whether you can float a boat into it, and how far, is very dependent on seasonal fluctuations.

When you get to the posted coordinates, proceed up the channel, about 200 feet. At that point you will find the remnants of an old bat house, pictured below. From that point, proceed up the channel 260 feet at 87 degrees. Then start looking!
