Geocache Description:

A multi-cache leading to two Henry Lawson comemorative locations in North Sydney.

Despite his literary success and widespread fame, the last years of Australia's celebrated poet, Henry Lawson, were full of troubles including drunkenness, depression, poverty and even time in jail for non-payment of debts. During the last twenty years of his life he was befriended by one Mrs Isabella Byers who ran a Coffee House in North Sydney where Lawson had a room. His association with the area is commemorated by North Sydney Council at the site of both waypoints for this cache This cache is set in honour of our 200th find and a slow spreading of the geocaching word to our families.

At Waypoint 1 you will find a plaque. Use it to solve the coordinates of the cache.
S33º50.A E151ºB.C
A = Multiply the last two digits of the oldest year on the plaque times 5; then subtract the first two digits of the same year
B = Number of letters in the poet’s name
C = Add all the Euroka Street numbers listed on the plaque together and multiply the total by seven. Then add the highest street number to that total

You might want to extend your geocaching day to include the North Sydney Council Heritage Plaques Walk. See www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au.
