Geocache Description:

A seldom visited park that seems to be under used at present. Cache at water's edge across the park.

By foot, bike or car, approach from the Norana Ave Reserve parking area at Longitude: 174:48.714 Latitude: S 36:56.757. Although there is no sign saying so, security guards can lock this carpark gate late at night. A bit further along Norana Ave there is another car park that seems to be permanently locked, but parking in the street here gives equally good foot access. I have cycled right to the cache.

This cache can be accessed by kayak. But preferably if the tide is at about 1 to 1.5 hours either side of high tide. At other times the water will be too shallow. At high tide you may need to use skills to secure the kayak. Who will be first to find by kayak?
Tide times can be found at (visit link)

Norana Ave Reserve is directly south, across the Manukau Harbour from what used to be Pikes Point Airfield. This airfiled was closed in 2009 as the Harbour Authority wanted to use the land for parking imported used cars. The Auckland Recreational Airports Trust investigated developing Norana Ave Reserve as an aternative. But the large property occupying nos. 49 and 51 Norana Ave are owned by the Samoan Government who showed no interest in selling as they had plans for the land. That's their new building to the east.

Cache is an aluminium container about twice he size of a film canister. It is coloured to blend in.
There's probably enough space for a coin or travel bug.

New log sheet has previous finders listed after original cache went missing mid May 2011.
