A small clear container at WP1 gives the coordinates to GZ, which is nearby.
WP1 is sealed (glued lid) against the weather - please leave as is. Info inside is visible without opening. It helps to be of average adult height (or taller) for WP1.
This cache hunt touches on a couple of suburban artefacts. I find it interesting to observe what becomes of things in our built environment when they no longer meet the need for which they were originally made. Are they abandoned to the elements? Are they re-used or re-cycled, or do they merely fall into disrepair? Do they provide a habitat for creatures? Are they relocated? What traces or remnants are left over time?
Way Point 1 is one such suburban artefact. There is also a trace of past workmanship under the leaf litter and soil encircling GZ. Can you spot it? Is this the site of a long-forgotten shrubbery planting, perhaps?
Parking: An unobtrusive way to approach this by car is to pull off Summerland Circuit at S35 23.106 E149 04.307 (roughly opposite the Mannheim Street T-junction with Summerland) and park near the Community Park. From there you can either approach WP1 by concrete paths (about 310m) or across open ground (bit shorter).
