Geocache Description:

This stash is located within a few miles of the infamous Slippery Rock University. For more university information: http://www.sru.edu/ The town of Slippery Rock is just 3 miles from I-79.

Moraine State Park is also close by. Or go to this web page to find out more on other attractions.

If coming from Slippery Rock, take West Water Street a couple miles until you cross over Wolf Creek bridge. There is a small parking lot just west of the bridge.

Parking Lot Location:
N41 03.810
W80 05.273

The trailhead is back across the east side of the open grated bridge and is marked with “white” blazes. In the springtime, around early to mid-May, the area along the creek and trail is covered with wildflowers, especially trilliums. For more information on this protected wildflower, visit this web site

PLEASE DO NOT PICK THE FLOWERS !!!!

To reach this cache, follow the “white” blazed trail along Wolf Creek. This is a loop trail of about 1.5 miles. I recommended taking the fork to the left that continues following the creek. You will then continue around the loop and eventually return to this same location after finding the cache.

Trail Fork Location:
N41 04.017
W80 05.355

Stay on the trail, this will bring you to the closest point to the cache.

Stop and rest at the benches. Return to this trail after finding the cache and continue on around the loop back to the fork and the bridge.

Bench Location:
N41 04.143
W80 05.077

Be careful when leaving the trail at the benches east towards the cache. There is a deer trail that follows along a cliff above the creek. It’s a good 100 foot drop if you should slip and fall. Your broken bones will be picked clean by the critters before anyone ever finds your body.

The stash is in a clear one-gallon container with a white lid that contains a log book and some information on the local trails. Please be sure to sign your name and email the condition.
