The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the
end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are
painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt
pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on
"working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's
not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt
locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less
traveled of the Green County countryside.
This was a Christmas gift to Wayne & Diane from their family.
Wayne purchased this farm in 1979 and they raise llamas. The
original barn fell in the 1980's and was rebuilt. Note: on the
small shed is a 4x4 of the quilt block 'Moon over the Mountain'.
This Barn Quilt is called Rosie’s Star.
