I respectfully acknowledge the Gadigal and Wangal people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which the cache is hidden, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present. I extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Yerulbin park is located on Yerulbin Point at Birchgrove.
From 1792 to 1971 the site was used for boat landing and boat building.
It was known as Long Nose Point until July 8, 1994.
The Aboriginal name for this place was Yerroulbin (Swift Running Water). The Wangal Clan occupied this area
In 1994 both the park and point were renamed.
Evidence of etchings and middens found nearby show the site was used by the Aboriginal people for feasts and fishing.
It's a popular fishing spot even today(Kid friendly). Bring your fishing gear and your camera
The best way to get here is by Ferry to Birchgrove Wharf or on foot from the nearest parking spot or Bus Stop(get the 441 bus to Birchgrove oval and walk around)
