Geocache Description:

In 1953 the Brisbane City Council dedicated the area for women's sport. It was named after Ernest Downey, a local alderman, whose family had been Windsor pioneers.

The cache is along the eastern end of the Enoggera Creek Bikeway and is only 4 km from the Brisbane CBD. The bikeway is great for walking or riding along. On weekends there are usually many people playing on the sporting fields. We have placed 2 other caches, one further west on the bikeway in Spencer Park and one further east in Northey Street Park. We hope you enjoy finding them.
