Geocache Description:

The Cache is at the co-ordinates, however you will need a 4 digit combination to retrieve it.

Witton Creek is one of the many creeks snaking through our suburbs, just waiting to burst their banks at the first sign of heavy rain.  This Cache is located on the heavily travelled bike path that takes you from Toowong, all the way along the Western Freeway and the Centerary Motorway.

This cache is at the listed co-ordinates, but you will need a 4 digit combination to access it.  There are 4 questions below.

Bragging rights are reserved for those who do not need to look the answers up on the Internet.  Extra bragging rights for those who solve question #4 in their heads!

We’ll start with an easy one. Then they get harder.

First Digit: Theology

How many of each species of animal did Moses take with him onto the Ark?

Second digit: Astronomy

How many planets are there in our solar system?

Third digit: Chemistry

How many chemical elements are liquid in their pure form at room temperature?  (STP)

Fourth Digit: Mathematics (OK, a pad and pencil might be needed for this one, but a spreadsheet is overkill)

Two trains start out on a head on collision course, each travelling at 20 km/h on a straight track towards each other, starting from 8km apart. (Q.R.  signal staff were on strike that day)

At the start of the journey there is a bee, which was asleep on the front of the first train but got startled and started flying at 30km/h away from the train along the track. He kept flying until he saw the second train, got scared and then turned around and headed in the opposite direction at the same speed.  This was fine until he saw the first train bearing down on him, so he did a quick 180-degree turn and headed the other way, until he came across the second train again (obviously).  He naturally turned around and headed the other way.  The bee continued going back and forth until the two trains collided and he was ultimately shuffled off this mortal coil.

So: how many kilometers did the ill-fated bee fly?

The combination to open the cache is before you.  Please don’t cheat.  Work out the combination before you search for this cache.
PLEASE CLOSE, LOCK AND RESET THE COMBINATION TO 0-0-0-0 WHEN YOU REPLACE THE CACHE!
