The Southeast Steuben County Library in Corning is a ginormous cache, chock full of treasures. The friendly helpful librarian and her staff are treasures. The stories that take us to other times, other places, other worlds and introduce us to fascinating people are treasures. Books, magazines, CDs, DVDs: they're all treasures. Some entertain us, some educate us, some turn us on to new interests.
Fortunately, the treasures are organized. Stories (fiction) are in order alphabetically by the author's last name. Non-fiction is in Dewey Decimal order. Imagine the fun that the librarians had when figuring out where to place, say, geocaching books. Recreation? Games? Treasure Hunting? It turns out that they're shelved with the books on celestial navigation. That shows an understanding of the core of geocaching and makes a certain kind of sense, doesn't it?
We invite you to come see what treasures you can find. To add to the fun, we've placed a logbook somewhere in the library. Possibly you can find it by using geosense. Where would you put a logbook in a library? If that approach doesn't work for you, go to the given coordinates. There you'll find a hint as well as coordinates for a second more specific hint.
