GAGB10 : The Millport Munch 2 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

JackieC: Think everyone has logged now. Just Uilebheist's Velocipede left to retrieve from the trackables (and I'm assuming he knows where that is as they are inseperable!)

Thanks all for coming to Cumbrae, will see you all at another event soon [:D]

Geocache Description:

The Geocaching Association Of Great Britain is celebrating it's 10th Anniversary this year and is encouraging us to put back into our community by holding CITO events up and down the country.

A post CITO meet and birthday party at Fintray Bay, Isle of Cumbrae on Saturday 1st June 2013

Following on from the first Millport Munch, this event also designed to be a family friendly ‘bring your own’ picnic on the West Coast of the island with the option of a nearby tearoom should the balmy summer weather fail us on the day.

As its the GAGB's 10th Birthday then you won't be surprised to find this event will include pass the parcel, musical statues, jelly, cake and sausage rolls!  There may even be some home-made Ginger Beer!!

....and of course all attendees will get a party bag.... but only if they're good!!

The party will commence after the CITO (will be published very soon), about 1pm if you dont want to do the clean up too.

There will be ample opportunities to explore the island on foot, by public transport, by bicycle (the island is very cycle friendly) or by car if the ferry cost is not prohibitive.

Ferry crossings are every 15 minutes in the Summer Season this, see Calmac for the timetable and costings here

The town of Millport is a short bus journey from the Cumbrae Ferry Slip and the town is worth a visit in its own right.  There are tea rooms, licenced premises and cycle hire shops in Millport itself and following the picnic, those who chose to cycle the chance of a refreshment stop.

Park in Largs and bring your cycles across, or you can hire from Millport. Its a great way to see the island and bag most of the caches on the way round.

We hope you can join us and visit this unique Scottish island.
