This park was named in honour of Queen Victoria's jubilee.
The area was drained and filled so that a park evolved from the mudflats for locals to play footy. In the early 20th century the ground was regarded as the best footy ground in Townsville. The working class people of both sexes used the park for many sporting activities making this ground an integral part of community recreation. Townsville's football has progressed remarkably and moved since then.
Beware of plover activity during the nesting season.
Cache is an Eclipse tin. Please BYOP.
