My geodog Amy once stepped out from this viewing stage onto the mat of pondweed that used to cover this lake, thinking that it was land. The result was very funny - she was extremely surprised!
This pond is part of the system for stormwater collection and treatment and is now free of floating surface weed. We have seen numerous wading bird species here, including royal spoonbills and red-capped plovers, and often several species of ducks are present.
The cache is a micro, so BYOP.
