These are essentially caches placed for cyclists using the Trail. Car drivers may need to take a pleasant stroll to reach some of them.
The section from Everton to Wangaratta can be quite tedious. There are long straight stretches without much tree cover so what better way to break it up than to stop for a few caches along the way.
I always enjoy discovering these old mile posts along the old railway lines. They are relatively rare but I have now found five along this section between Bowser and Tarrawingee Stations. There is also one at Everton Station #161, one at Beechworth #171 and one at Burgoigee Creek #167. I must see if I can spot some more.
