Dinosaur Train: Waterdown Paleontologist Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

j9photography: Sadly, due to a TROLL living under the bridge - he or she whom dumped my cache, stole from it, and left in in ruin - I've decided to archive this cache and rehide it in a better location. Using what I found left at the GZ, I will clean the container & replace the contents and then place it in a more family-friendly spot some time in the future. THANK YOU for those who visited my cache & those of you who gave it favourite points. This was my first hide. It has a long backstory - but I will leave saying...I'm glad I hid it - It ignited a deeper passion for geocaching than I had previous. :)

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Waterdown, Ontario! This Dinosaur Train geocache can be accomplished with a young family. It is set up along a family-friendly walking trail by a ravine .

Because I myself have a young family, I wanted to create a family-friendly geocache.  The terrain and difficulty rating are low (to retrieve the cache, you will need to go off the path a wee bit though).  The container size is large.  The topic is fun!!  DINOSAUR TRAIN!!  After a short hike and cache "find", there are opportunites to explore the trail, toss rocks into the ravine or play at the local parks (you will find a park on either end of the trail: Riley St. - Rockcliffe Gardens Park / Hollybush Dr. - Belmont Park). Make memories! Please - keep in mind there are MANY directions for muggles to view you, so please be stealthy & camouflage as found. With this in mind I give you my Waterdown Paleontologist Geocache.

"Go outside, get into nature and make your own discoveries!"

That is what Dr. Scott challenges his viewers to do at the end of each Dinosaur Train episode. In support of this call to action, The Jim Henson Company has hidden Dinosaur Train themed geocaches nationwide with the help of local PBS stations and geocachers. To find the location of other Dinosaur Train themed geocaches, simply search for "Dinosaur Train" in the keyword search option or check out this list of Dinosaur Train Geocaches.

Each geocache celebrates the dinosaurs featured in the Dinosaur Train Field Guide on the PBS Kids website. This geocache is a paleontologist geocache.  Since it is our first Dinosaur Train cache, we decided to feature a variety of dinos!!

What is your favorite dinosaur? Let us know in the log!
