Geocache Description:

Will the Soul Eater steal your shoes?

This was formerly a night cache and converted into a multi on 23/11/2020. It will take you on a journey around Beverly Hills Park and can now be done at any time of the day or night as no equipment is required.

In the early 1920s, calls for a park in the Dumbleton (now Beverly Hills) area surfaced when the Meadows/Moorefields Estate was being subdivided. The subdivision provided an opportunity for land to be set aside for a park. Council stated it had no funds for a park but in 1944, a park had appeared under the name of Moorefield Park. There is evidence that the park was used by the RAAF during WW1 and activities such as flying of model aircraft and archery occurred at the park.

The first use of the name Beverly Hills Park appears in the Council meeting of 1946.

(info from Georges River Council)

Soul Eater is a song by Australian band The Clouds who were together for most of the '90s (they reformed in 2011 and will do so again in 2017). The song comes from their popular 1991 album Penny Century - watch the video clip (it's a quick 2:40 song, play it in the background while you're reading) and sing along if you remember the words (or like me, make up mondegreens!)

At Waypoint 1 you will find yourself at an ANZAC memorial which was donated by the Whites. The year of the donation becomes ABCD. To find WP2 use the following:

S33 56.(C) (B-D) (Ax6)
E151 05.(A+D) (C) (C-A)

At WP2 you should find another plaque. Here you need to find the year of dedication. This will become EFGH. With this information, use:

S33 56.(H-E)(C-D)(H)
E151 05.(F-7)(G/2)(H)

You will require a little manual dexterity to get to the log. BYO writing implement.

The journey is child friendly but do watch your footing around GZ.
