This is a Cooperative Story cache.

The open-air Blackhawk Plaza features a 750 foot long aquatic landscaped courtyard populated with bronze sculptures with a child's storybook theme. There is a small playground for young children, and the water is home to many ducks. Be sure to check out the animal sculptures located up the stairs on either side of the large fountain (a ramp is located next to the stairs). The plaza is open 10am-8pm Monday-Friday & 11am-6pm Sunday.

TO CLAIM THE VIRTUAL FIND, MESSAGE THE ANSWER TO THESE TWO QUESTIONS:

1) Go to the coordinates and examine the sculpture that says "Swan Rides". Identify the small image of a statue located on the base of this sculpture. What is it's name?

2) Locate and read the nearby plaque. Take the word on the plaque that comes BEFORE each of the following words (use the 1st occurrence).
"THE SWAN OF WHIMSICAL DREAMS COMES"
What is the new phrase?

Do not wait to log the Find (you will only receive a reply if the answers are wrong) but your Find log will be deleted if the correct information is not sent.

PROLOGUE

Evan was coming home from school. As the car went into the garage, he thought he saw a mouse. Evan had always wanted a mouse pet, but his mom said they were pests. He knew if he asked her she would think he was crazy. He had hoped that one day a mouse would show up so he could keep it in secret from his mom.

He thought he saw the mouse run inside the house. Jumping out of the car, he rushed inside. Evan’s parents had divorced, his dad had moved away, and he had no siblings. He was very lonely, and a mouse would make perfect company. He ran into the kitchen: his mom loved cheese, so did mice, he was sure he would find it there.

CHAPTER 1

Nathan, the mouse, was ... well ... unique. He was the smartest mouse you would ever see. He had soft gray fur, bright green eyes, and an extra long tail. He had learned how to free himself and others from a mouse trap.

He ran along the streets. It was a cold night and he was freezing, despite the fact that he was covered in fur. Suddenly, a bright blue thing (on black round things) rushed by him. A door opened, and it rushed inside. Nathan ran through the door. Sniffing, he smelled cheese and ran into the kitchen when suddenly he felt something clamp down on his tail, jerking him to a stop. Turning around, he began nibbling the wood of the mouse trap, quickly freeing his tail and he scurried off into a boy’s hand.

CHAPTER 2

One year later.

Nathan had a relationship with Evan. One day Evan brought Nathan to school. Nathan was an expert escape mouse. Now he could escape from a cage, mouse traps, and he was learning to escape from being tied up with twine. Next he was going to learn how to unzip a zipper from the inside. Today was show and tell and Evan wanted Nathan to perform then.

Evan took Nathan out of the car and fed him a piece of cheese and put him in his backpack. After a few pets, he went in his classroom. He didn't notice a boy watching with a cruel smirk on his face.

CHAPTER 3

Billy was a bully, and when he saw how much Evan liked Nathan he decided to take Nathan and to put him in the cage with the rest of the mice that he caught. Nathan was confused when he was picked up. Was it time for show and tell already? When he looked up he understood immediately. He had been mouse-napped! Nathan knew he could do nothing about it now. He would have to wait, until he was put down, to go back to Evan.

. . .

At the end of school, Nathan was taken home by Billy, and Billy took him into his basement. As Billy took him to the far end of the basement, he passed many small cages, each with a mouse captive inside. Nathan was put in an extra-small cage. Nathan inspected the latches on the cage. When Billy left, Nathan undid the latches. It was tough; he would have to practice more when he got home.

As he went to the stairs, he freed each mouse. One mouse stepped forward. Unlike the other mice, which were gray, she was white with blue eyes that seemed to glow. She said,"My name is Grace. I lead the field mice. We give great thanks for freeing us." All the mice nodded. Nathan said, "Let's get out of this place. I know someone who can take care of us." "Good," said Grace, "Lets go, scouts!" A ring of mice surrounded them. "Good," said Nathan, and the mice ran up the steps -- unaware of the danger above.

CHAPTER 4

The cat lurking above smelled something. Sniffing again, it smelled ... was it mice? Yes, it was mice. Lots of them. The cat went to sharpen its claws.

The mice went into the living room when suddenly a cat sprang through the door, nearly crushing some of the mice. Nathan yelled, "Get under the couch!" Everyone did except Gary. Gary said, "Hi," and walked toward the cat. The cat hissed. Nathan said, "Someone get thread from the couch! The rest of you start nibbling through the wall so we can get out of here." Everyone did it. Nathan made a lasso from the thread, lassoed Gary, and pulled him under the couch. Gary asked, "Wh-What did I do wrong?" "Nearly getting killed for no reason," answered Nathan, "Now get going like everyone else." Soon they had nibbled through the wall and marched out, finally free.

When the mice got home, Evan was stunned! He was even more surprised when ...
