Le parc Belmont est un parc d’attractions ayant opéré de 1923 à 1983 dans Cartierville, un quartier du nord de Montréal.
The park Belmont is an amusement park having operated from 1923 till 1983 in Cartierville, a district of the North of Montreal.
Au début, ce simple parc champêtre est visité durant la saison estivale par les citadins en quête d'air frais et de verdure. À cette époque, Cartierville est relativement peu développé et s'y rendre en tramway constitue une évasion à la campagne pour ceux qui habitent la ville.
At the beginning, this simple rural park is visited during the summer season by the city-dwellers in search of fresh air and of greenery. At that time, Cartierville is relatively little developed and to go to it by streetcar constitute an escape in the countryside for those who live in the city.
À compter du krach des années 1930, le Parc Belmont se développe peu à peu pour devenir un parc d'attractions moderne. Sa trentaine de manèges, dont les majestueuses montagnes russes à charpente de bois, la maison hantée, la Souris folle et le Tapis magique, font la joie de tous.
As from the crash of the 1930s, the Park Belmont develops little by little to become a modern amusement park. His thirty attractions, among which the majestic roller coaster , the haunted house, the crazy Mouse and the magic Carpet, make the enjoyment of everyone.

À la fin de la saison 1983, après un changement de propriétaires et une «cure de rajeunissement», représentant des investissements de près de 5 millions de dollars et qui obtient un certain succès, le Parc Belmont ferme définitivement ses portes. Durant ses soixante années d'activité, le Parc Belmont aura accueilli plus de 25 millions de visiteurs. La fermeture est principalement due à l'augmentation des taxes et à la baisse considérable de la fréquentation qui durait depuis le début des années 1980. Les quatre propriétaires prennent alors la décision de remplacer le parc d'attraction par un projet résidentiel, la Place Belmont.
At the end of the season 1983, after owners' change and try to modernize the park, representing investments of about 5 million dollars, the Park Belmont closes definitively its doors. During its sixty business years, the Park Belmont will have welcomed more than 25 million visitors. The closure is mainly due to the increase of taxes and to the considerable reduction in the attendance which lasted since the beginning of 1980s. The four owners then made the decision to replace the amusement park by a residential project, the Belmont Square.
Actuellement, sur le site du parc Belmont, on trouve des condos. Un petit espace vert, baptisé Parc Belmont, a été aménagé devant ce projet domiciliaire sur la rive de la Rivière des Prairies. On y retrouve une sculpture commémorative, L'attente, de Guillaume Lachapelle (2008), œuvre consistant en une structure rectangulaire en aluminium abritant à sa base une auto tamponneuse, et supportant une corniche constituée de montagnes russes parcourues par deux chariots en bronze représentant des immeubles d'habitation.
Now on the site of the park Belmont, we find condos. A small green space, baptized Park Belmont, was fitted out in front of this domiciliary project on the bank of the River. We find a commemorative sculpture there. The art work L’Attente of Guillaume Lachapelle ( 2008 ) consists of an aluminum rectangular structure sheltering on its base a bumper car, and supporting a ledge constituted by roller coasters traveled by two bronze wagons representing apartment buildings.
