Schloss Neuschwanstein
Oberhalb von Hohenschwangau bei Füssen liegt das Schloss Neuschwanstein an der Grenze zu Österreich. Das Schloss wurde von und für den bayerischen König Ludwig II erbaut, der gerne in seiner eigenen Traumwelt lebte. Es verkörpert daher auch eine idealisierte Vorstellung einer Ritterburg aus der Zeit des Mittelalters. Ludwig II lebte aber nur wenige Monate im Schloss und starb noch vor der Fertigstellung der Anlage. Neuschwanstein ist eines der berühmtesten Schlösser weltweit und eine der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Deutschlands. Oftmals wird es als „Märchenschloss“ bezeichnete und war nicht umsonst die Vorlage für das Schloss vom Logo für Walt Disney.
Auch spielte das Schloss in vielen Filmen mit - bekannter wären z.B. Mel Brooks’ 1987 veröffentlichter Star-Wars-Parodie "Spaceballs" oder auch „The Monuments Men – Ungewöhnliche Helden“ von und mit George Clooney.
Viele Details über den Bau selber könnt Ihr auf diversen Seiten nachlesen, wo es ausführlich besprochen wird. Auf Grund der Einstellung von Ludwig II ist dies nämlich sehr viel und abwechslunsgreich, so dass eine Auflistung hier in dem Cache zu weit gehen würde.
Um diesen Cache zu loggen müsst Ihr Folgendes tun:
- Wie viele Stufen müsst Ihr auf der linken Seite hochsteigen, um vom Unteren Schlosshof auf den Oberen Schlosshof zu gelangen?
- Links hinter dem Baum im Oberen Schlosshof (links, direkt am Ende der Treppe) ist eine kleine Pforte, wie viele Spitzen hat diese?
- Macht ein Photo von Euch oder Eurem GPS am oder im Schloss - ein Gesicht ist wie immer keine Pflicht, so Ihr dies nicht wollt. Ein Photo müsst Ihr aber dem Log anhängen.

Da ein Ende der Corona-Problematik noch nicht abzusehen ist, reicht für die Zeit der Auflagen ein Bild am Eingangstor, um den Cache zu loggen. Wer ein Ticket hat, kann aber dann auch gerne die Lösungen per Mail schreiben und damit auch die Coin discovern. Passt auf Euch auf und habt Spaß - Danke :)

Weitere Informationen: Das Parken in Hohenschwangau auf den Schlossparkplätzen kostet ungefähr 6 €. Der Zugang zum Schloss kostet dann weitere 13 € (Stand Ende August 2017) - für den Cache muss aber kein Eintrittsgeld gezahlt werden. Das Loggen ist ohne jegliche Kosten möglich. Beachtet aber, dass es Öffnungszeiten gibt. Die T-Wertung bezieht sich auf die kleine Wanderung zur Burg. Bei Anmeldung ist es aber auch theoretisch möglich die Burg mit dem Rollstuhl zu besichtigen. Dafür ist aber eine Voranmeldung im Ticketcenter nötig, da nur ein Rollstuhl die Stunde auf die Burg darf.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Above Hohenschwangau and near Füssen is Neuschwanstein Castle located - quite close to Austria. The castle was built by and for the Bavarian King Ludwig II, who liked to live in his own dream world. Therefore, it represents an idealized representation of a knight castle from the time of the Middle Ages. Ludwig II lived only a few months in the castle and died before the completion of the castle. Neuschwanstein is one of the most famous castles in the world and one of Germany's most famous sights. It is often referred as a "fairy-tale castle" and was not without a reason the model for the castle of Walt Disneys logo.
In addition, the castle could be seen in many movies - well known are e.g. Mel Brooks' Star Wars Parody "Spaceballs" or George Clooneys "The Monuments Men".
Many details about the construction itself can be read on various pages, where it is discussed in detail. Because of the attitude of Ludwig II there is so much to tell about this castle that it would be too much to list everything in this cache.
To log this cache, do the following
- How many stairs do you have to take to get on the left from the Lower Castle Courtyard to the Upper Castle Courtyard?
- Left behind the tree in the Upper Castle Courtyard (left side, directly where the stairs end) is a gate - how many cone points does it have?
- Please take a photo of you or your GPS at or in the castle - there is no obligation to show your face, if you don't like it. Still, you need to attach a photo to your log.

Since the end of the Corona time is not yet in sight, a picture at the entrance gate is sufficient to log the cache. If you have a ticket, you can also write the solutions to the mail address and therefore discover the coin. Take care and have fun - thank you :)

Further information: Parking in Hohenschwangau on the dedicated grounds costs about 6 €. Further, the access to the castle costs another 13 € (August 2017) - but you don't have to pay if you only want to log the cache. It is possible log the cache without any costs, but please, take the opening hours into consideration. The terrain rating refers to the small hike to the castle. In general, the castle is also wheelchair accessable. Please reserve a visit if needed in the ticket center in Hohenschwangau as only one wheelchair per hour is allowed.
