Van juni tot en met november 1917 hield het "Commonwealth XV Corps" het front vanaf de kust tot aan St-Georges. Het 24ste en 39ste "Casual Clearing Station" bevonden zich aan de Oosthoek (tussen Adinkerke en Veurne) en dit van juli tot november en het 1ste "Canadian Casualty Clearing station" bevond zich in Adinkerke voor een korte periode in juni. Dit verklaart de aanwezigheid van dit kerkhof op deze plaats. Het kerkhof bevat 168 Commonwealth graven van de WOI en 55 van WOII. Er liggen eveneens 142 Tsjechen en duitsers op deze begraafplaats.

De juin à novembre 1917, le XVe Corps du Commonwealth tient le front de la côte à St-Georges. Les 24ème et 39ème "Casual Clearing Station" étaient situés sur l'Oosthoek (entre Adinkerke et Veurne) et ce de juillet à novembre et le 1er "Canadian Casualty Clearing Station" était à Adinkerke pour une courte période en juin. Ceci explique la présence de ce cimetière à cet endroit. Le cimetière contient 168 tombes du Commonwealth de la Première Guerre mondiale et 55 de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il y a aussi 142 Tchèques et Allemands sur ce cimetière.

From June to November 1917 the Commonwealth XV Corps held the front from the Belgian coast to St. Georges. The 24th and 39th Casualty Clearing Stations were posted at Oosthoek (between Adinkerke and Furnes) from July to November, and the 1st Canadian Casualty Clearing Station was at Adinkerke for a short time in June. Adinkerke Military Cemetery contains 168 Commonwealth burials of the First World War, and 55 from the Second World War. There are also 142 Czech and German war graves.
