Le cascine del Rio Rosto
Sul versante destro della valle del Rio Rosto si trovano molte antiche cascine.
Abitate sin dal XVIII secolo da dozzine di famiglie, che vivano di allevamento di bestiame, taglio della legna, raccolta di castagne e coltivazione di grano e patate, queste cascine sono state abbandonate nel corso degli anni '60 del secolo scorso, andando progressivamente in rovina. Oggi sono ridotte a ruderi nascosti nei boschi, misere testimonianze della antica civiltà contadina delle montagne liguri.
Ca' Nova
Fra la peggio conservate, questa cascina merita tuttavia una visita per ammirare il maestoso Tasso ultracentenario presente al suo fianco.
L'edificio fu abbandonato nei primi anni '50 del secolo scorso a seguito di un distruttivo incendio.
Itinerario: si può facilmente raggiungere Ca' Nova partendo dalla Colla di Acquabianca [waypoint P0] e passando per Ca' Batin e La Gattazzè oppure partendo dalla Strada Provinciale SP73 del passo del Faiallo [waypoint P1].

The farms of the Rio Rosto
On the right side of the Rio Rosto valley there are many old farmhouses.
Inhabited since the eighteenth century by dozens of families, who lived off cattle breeding, wood cutting, chestnut harvesting and cultivation of wheat and potatoes, these farms were abandoned during the 60s of the last century. Today they have become ruins hidden in the woods, poor evidence of the ancient rural culture of the Ligurian mountains.
Ca' Nova (New house)
Among the worst preserved, however, this farmhouse deserves a visit to admire the majestic centenary Yew which stands at its side.
The building was abandoned in the early 50s of the last century, after a destructive fire.
Itinerary: you can easily reach Ca' Nova starting from Colla di Acquabianca [waypoint P0] and passing by Ca' Batin e La Gattazzè, or starting from SP73 "Provincial Road of the Faiallo Pass" [waypoint P1].
