The Alien Artifact series is designed to highlight the significant alien activity in the Greater Dandenong area during the Mid-twentieth century. Most people living in the area are unaware of the relics and history which is just on their doorstep. At each cache you will need to collect the clue to decipher the coordinates for the final "Aerials":

Beacons
At the posted coordinates you should be standing on a path with a paddock to the west. You should be able to see "Landing beacon #6" in the paddock about 15 metres past the fence (there is no need to enter the paddock). The landing beacons are concrete cylindrical columns which open up and shoot out a bright beam of light as an alien UFO is approaching. During the 50's the UFOs would use the paddock to land their UFOs just beyond "Landing beacon #7" which is about 100 metres further North-west of "Landing beacon #6" - you can see it in the distance. All of the landing beacons are lined up in a perfectly straight line to make sure the UFOs could land safely - much like our human version on airport runways.
The landing beacons were all connected together by underground cables, and they are powered by a small but powerful wireless battery which can still be seen hanging from a tree next to Landing Beacon #1 (thanks to the Greater Dandenong Alien Historical Society for preserving this artifact)

Find the battery and you will find the cache. No need to do anything silly on the Freeway - there is a safe way to negotiate it if you feel you need to.
