The Alien Artifact series is designed to highlight the significant alien activity in the Greater Dandenong area during the Mid-twentieth century. Most people living in the area are unaware of the relics and history which is just on their doorstep. At each cache you will need to collect the clue to decipher the coordinates for the final "Aerials":

Annihilation
A terrifying piece of Alien history is that they had planned for the possibility of wiping out humanity if it came down to a "survival of the fittest" type situation. We all know that when 2 animal species compete for the same resources (eg. oxygen, food, water, glass etc), the stronger species will dominate the other. At the posted coordinates you are standing in the exact middle of a physical "target" (check on Google Maps if you don't believe us) set up by the Aliens to help aim their weapon of mass destruction - this target can be seen from outer space where the destroyer ship would be taking aim if the need arose.....
However the visual target was not enough to accurately aim their weapons, they also required two electronic guidance devices to help guide the WMDs. The two devices were placed exactly the same distance from the centre of the target and exactly 180 degrees apart from each other. In other words they both sit on the diameter of a circle centred around the target (see below for an example of how it might be set up).
One of the devices was once located at the coordinates S 38 00.105 E 145 09.367 but has since been destroyed - despite the best efforts of the Greater Dandenong Alien Historical Society to protect it. The second device is thought to be still in the park but historians have been unable to locate it.
