Geocache Description:


NOTICE: Banff National Park rules forbid the placement of any trade items or trackable in the park caches. There is a possibility that some common trade items act as attractants for wildlife. Do not leave anything in the caches except the log book and pencils The geocache is located in a public area of the famous hotel overlooking the bow river. You can park at the Bow falls viewpoint parking and enjoy a short, easy walk up the stairs to the hotel. You need to find the gym and the outdoor terrace with amazing views. The geocache is located by the small building located to the left of the terrace. The geocache its self is a averaged sized blue lock container around L 17cm x W 7cm x D 2cm. Inside the lock is a piece of paper for you to sign your name and a pencil. Geocachers will be reminded this geocache is located on a National Historic Site and no other items can be moved or disturbed at this location other than the geocache itself. Educational Message: The building where the geocache is located was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988. The famous Cornelius Van Horne commissioned blueprints for an impressive hotel that would be situated at the convergence of the Bow and Spray rivers. Construction of the hotel began in 1887. In 1888, the hotel opened to the public. It quickly became one of the top three mountain resort getaways in North America Code is 13
