When a boy or girl is entering 5th Grade, they are on to the last step of Cub Scouting! For at least six months, they will work to earn their Arrow of Light Award, the highest award in Cub Scouting.
To earn their Arrow of Light, a Cub must learn about citizenship in the town, country, and world, go camping, and learn the bowline knot (rabbit has a hole... rabbit goes up the hole...), learn how to deal with weather emergencies, will visit a Scout troop, and to start to work together with other Scouts to run their own program. They also have to earn at least one elective adventure that can range from things like space exploration to art to building to wilderness survival to moviemaking... lot's of different choices!
To find this cache and finish this series, you'll have to find the other six Cub Caches! Each one will have one or two numbers that you'll need on separate little pieces of paper. Fill in the blanks and you'll "earn" your Arrow of Light!
This series is located in a few parks in Camden County, NJ and are available dawn to dusk. No need to go through anyone's yard or across private property. Series very kid friendly (hidden by kids, for kids!) with a good stash of kid swag available for 6 of the 7 caches. Don't miss the playground at the end (we love the musical instruments best)!
Congrats to Pezgirl22 and Forbez on the First to find, who figured it out and found it even though the last cache in the series is sitting by my keys and hasn't been hidden yet.
Other caches in the series:
Cub Cache 1 - Lion
Cub Cache 2 - Bobcat
Cub Cache 3 - Tiger
Cub Cache 4 - Wolf
Cub Cache 5 - Bear
Cub Cache 6 - Webelos
And just as actual Cub Scouts can go on to Boy Scouts, if you want to go on to earn your geo-Scout ranks, you can start with Path to Eagle: Tenderfoot with the series of caches that gave my own little Cub Scouts the idea to do this series!
Congrats to Forbez and Pezgirl22 for the FTF (before the whole series was published)!
