As part of a $116 million dollar rail stabling yard project, the new stabling yard was built and completed in Elimbah in 2017 to allow for greater capacity to store the New Generation Rollngstock as they rolled out. Elimbah Stabling Yard is constructed to store 8 x 6 car units.
In relation to trains, a stabling yard is a place where train units are stored when they are not in use. Trains parked in a stabling facility are cleaned internally and prepared for the next day's service. This includes removing waste, decanting (emptying toilets) and other routine inspections.
You have a great view from nearby the cache location of the stabling yards and would be a great spot for trainspotting for any train that travels up the northcoast line.
Cache container is a small pill bottle, in hopefully a relatively easy spot. Please BYO Pen/Pencil.
