The Reason
The other day I was continuing my way through the JRP series and came across a cache in this section of the parkway that was surrounded by A LOT of trash. I did a little clean-up as I searched. Eventually, I had the pile pictured above. As I tried to carry it back to the trailhead there was more trash that I did not have a spare hand to pick-up. I finally got it all into the trashcan at the trailhead. As I walked to the nearby convenience store to get a drink after that thirsty work, I began to plot a way to fulfill my thought "this place needs a CITO". As I walked out, I spied the convenience store's dumpsters and got another idea. I walked back in and had a chat with the manager.
The Game Plan
Stop by the posted coordinates to sign the log, grab a bag and some gloves then head down the parkway and around the trailhead to make this place cleaner. If a few people would be willing to bring wagons or bikes with baskets or kid trailers, we can use those to pick-up full bags and haul them back to the convenience store's dumpsters. When you post a "Will Attend", please let me know if you can bring one.
Parking
Park in the lot nearest the coordinates or one of the two lots in the additional waypoints and walk the parkway to the event.
COVID Accommodations
Please wear a mask while you're signing in at the table. The parkway can be busy on Saturdays. If it's a typical Saturday, you may want to wear one while you're out there.
