Ima Lost: Due to the Well Drilling activity in the area, narrow roads with BIG trucks, I feel it is prudent to archive this cache. Thank You to all whom have taken the time to locate it.

Geocache Description:

The cache is located off from the East Fork Road (SR3001) between Cherry Springs and Conrad. Coordinates for the beginning of your journey road are as listed above. At these coordinates, you must leave the East Fork Road and begin your cache journey. Turn onto the indicated road. (Only one right direction – will you choose correctly?) At this point you are 1.65 mi. NW of the cache. So keep going! Note: I have noted the secondary road coordinates instead of a name, in case someone forgets how to get back to East Fork Road after finding the cache. Ima Lost doesn’t want any Lost GeoCachers.

After turning onto the correct road follow it to a very nice parking area at coordinates: N 41 deg 35.824, W077 deg 51.563. This is the Jamison Vista. Jamison Run follows the valley SW. Wharton is 10.3 mi. SW as the crow flies. Remember: Do your Sportin in Wharton! Also – You can get great Ice Cream Cones at the Wharton General Store. Coudersport is 14.7 mi. NW, Austin is 12.1 mi. W and my abode is 6.01 mi. SW

The sign of the porcupine (or Erethizon dorsatum) will tell you the coordinates for the cache (or you can decrypt the hint below). This final short leg of the journey is short –but a little steep. Be careful and watch your step. But if you look around the animals will show you the easiest way. You are looking for a Dark Green Ammo Box holding the usual stuff and you know the routine – Take something, leave something, sign the logbook with name, date and any comments. This is my first hidden cache, and I hope you like it. Sit near the cache after finding it and listen. What do you hear?

If you listen close enough, you may hear a Panther. Old Folk Lore has it that an Indian by the name of James Jamison was killed by a panther at the mouth of this Hollow. The story goes that he was walking along and a panther jumped on him from a tree. James only had a knife with which to defend himself. When his body was found, the panther lay dead along side him. That is why this Hollow is known as The Jamison.

This cache can also be reached coming NW on the Windfall Road or NE on the McConnell Road.

Please be warned: This cache may not be assessable during the winter, as most Forestry Roads have no winter maintenance. But you could use a snowmobile if you like. This cache site has been approved until 10/1/05 by the Pa. Bureau of Forestry.
