Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

Welcome to my scale model of the Solar System! This series of caches will take you down Highway 14 from Interstate 82 all the way to the east end of Klickitat County. The scale is 1 mile = 1 astronomical unit, which means that the geocache representing the Earth is about one mile from the geocache representing the Sun. The Solar System is a big place. At this scale, the geocache for Pluto is almost 40 miles to the west. At this scale, if I were to place a geocache to represent the Voyager I spacecraft (just to be clear, I didn't) it would be 152 miles west. This is across the river from Cascade Locks.

To find the Sun, you will need to find the other eight main planets in our Solar System. Each of them are micros, with a letter and number that you will use to figure out the final coordinates, which are as follows: N 45 5A.BCD W 119 1E.FGH. The terrain rating for this geocache is higher because of the amount of driving you need to do to get the final coords. Once you have that figured out, the terrain is more like 1.5.

There are also two extra caches in this series, representing two dwarf planets. These do not have codes in them and do not need to be found to find the Sun, but I figured nobody would shy away from the chance for extra smileys.
