Ceres (BONUS) - DJ Cane's Solar System Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DJ Cane: It appears this cache has gone missing. I will not be able to make it out here to investigate and replace until sometime around May. I have decided to archive it to open up the space to other COs if they would like, but if there is no cache here by then I may replace it.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to my scale model of the Solar System! This series of caches will take you down Highway 14 from Interstate 82 all the way to the east end of Klickitat County. The scale is 1 mile = 1 astronomical unit, which means that the geocache representing the Earth is about one mile from the geocache representing the Sun. The Solar System is a big place. At this scale, the geocache for Pluto is almost 40 miles to the west. At this scale, if I were to place a geocache to represent the Voyager I spacecraft (just to be clear, I didn't) it would be 152 miles west. This is across the river from Cascade Locks.

This cache represents Ceres - a dwarf planet and the largest known object in the Asteroid Belt. This geocache does not have a code to help you find the Sun, it's just here to be an extra smiley for those who want it. The shoulder of the highway is wide enough to pull off and find the cache, but be sure to watch for cars.
