The caches are near the various trails that run through the park, so no bushwhacking is required or desired. Use one of the trail maps available at the Haw Ridge trails page to plan and guide your search. For other caches in the park click on "Nearby caches" or visit the Haw Ridge caches page for an overview of the cache locations and top geocachers.
The park has several cedar barrens, and this cache is located atop the highest cedar barrens in the park. Cedar barrens are found on rocky limestone formations, supporting stunted oaks, eastern red cedars, and grasses that are commonly found in the midwestern prairies and coastal plain.
Education and exercise -- you can't beat that.
