In December 2019 I hid a geocache that I called "The Library Cache". It was muggled one month later. Now, I'm hiding another large cache. This time there are less books, but it's just as big as last time. The Library Cache 2.0 is here!
UPDATE: As of January 1st, 2022, the container has been replaced with a "Regular" sized container. The rest of the page is kept here only to retain the short previous history of this cache.
The Library Cache 2.0 contains several books, a box for trackables, and plenty of tradeable swag items! As part of the swag of this box, I've even included a smartphone and an old pair of Bluetooth over-ear headphones. Remember to trade for items of the same value!
This geocache is located in one of the several small moo baans, or neighbourhoods, off of Thunghotel road. This moo baan has been famously known for its Swedish population. Throughout the last decades, many Swedish inhabitants have moved in and out of the moo baan. It is unknown what makes this little corner of Chiang Mai a place that many Swedes have occupied. Perhaps it is just coincidence. You might still see some Swedes here today. At the end of Soi Si Suk, or Si Suk Alley, you'll find a corner. Somewhere near that corner, the geocache is located. The cache is inaccessible from the side of the canal with the Chinese temple. You can only access this cache from the side of the canal with only houses (there are no businesses and there is not a Chinese temple walkable from the cache due to the canal). Cache is placed with permission of property owners, however you do not have to go in a fence or gate to reach the cache.
A map of the neighbourhood (source: Google Maps):

The cache container is a large, blue box. There is a wooden board inside of it which adds a second level to it. To access the logbook and swag underneath, you can remove the board. Please put it back in the container afterwards, though. The cache is large enough to fit swag the size of a tennis racket, or slightly bigger.
This geocache series is a work in progress, but it aims to show you around typical Chiang Mai neighbourhoods in Wat Ket area, and East of Wat Ket. Instead of taking you to the usual tourist locations, this cache series seeks to show you the quieter side of Chiang Mai. Small neighbourhoods of houses off of the busy roads (The Library Cache 2.0) and a noodle shop restaurant popular with the locals (The Noodle Shop Cache) will give you a taste of real life in Chiang Mai.
