Welcome to a hide by Twinkletoestwo and Iaminis!
This cache is located in O'Dea Reserve, a beautiful location with a bit of cycling history.
In 1969, construction began on what was to be called the Camperdown Velodrome, and was completed in 1971: a 250 m track run by the Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club. It had a good life, holding many competitions (a little personal connection: Iaminis' father won "The Randwick Botany Cycling Club senior track championship" in 1990 :) ).

It fell out of use in 1992, and not long after was discovered to have been built on contaminated, carcinogenic soil. In response to this, the velodrome was demolished in 2000 and the soil decontaminated.
It is now a lovely park with plenty of trees and grass, a dog off-leash area, and is easily accessible from Ross Street.
This cache was previously located in another area of the park, but has been moved and renewed to avoid confusion.
Happy hunting!
NB: Please replace the cache how you found it, others want to enjoy this find too!
