IN MEMORY OF LAURIE FREEMAN!
SEPTEMBER 17, 2022
FISHER’S FIELD PICNIC SHELTER
DEAS ISLAND REGIONAL PARK
8:30 – 9:30
We have been asked by Laurie's sister, FreelerSquealers, to host today’s two events in memory of Laurie Freeman who passed away January 18, 2021. The two events and soon to be published caches are designed to honor legendary cacher Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog, AKA funbeach, AKA the creator of Cache, Dash, Splash and AKA Wizard of Ooze (as a reviewer).
This event is a warm up to what hopefully will be a fun day of caching and meeting new people. Come by and meet up with friends and please say hello to Laurie's family, FreelerSquealers.
At 9:30 we will pass out passports with coordinates and hints for up to 12 unpublished caches. Once you have completed the passports return to the Laurie evening event GC9R6AY starting at 4:30 for the chance to receive a "Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog" geocoin. There is no reward for first-to-finish, so take your time, be safe and enjoy the sights. Be alert because there may be other geocaches near the places you travel to.
We have a limited number of coins and if we have more participants than coins we will distribute them in a fair way – perhaps by draw. Because we have a limited number of coins we will be having some restrictions – Only one coin per family/household and no coins for anyone under the age of 16. If anyone already has a coin (attended the US version of these events) we would ask that you please not take a second one here.
Please log a will attend with the number in your party so that we can properly prepare. We will have drinks and snacks available for you at this morning’s event.
We also have two other events associated with these two
