Langbar Loop #10: Hardisty's & Leyfield
The 10th cache in the series, a small slim black-taped push-capped tube, is hidden at the start of a lovely shady footpath which runs along the edge of the farmland at the top of the steep western bank of Holden Gill..
See Langbar Loop #1 for background info on the series including a map.
From #9 carry on eastwards along Hardings Lane as far as N 53 57.400 W 1 51.140 the junction with the Leyfield Farm access road with Hardisty's in the corner.
Turn right (south) here and follow the lane past the Leyfield Farm buildings and then down a grassy track to the small stile @ N 53 57.233 W 1 51.333. Cross over this and continue down to the cache location.
Hardisty's is a Grade 2 Historic England-listed building - a stone house dated 1702 with C19 alterations.
Not much can be found about Leyfield Farm but examination of historical maps show that it is a long established farm. It has been altered substantially over the years and has numerous additional (holiday home?) structures as seen from the footpath.
