World Wide Flash Mob XX - Harvest Festival
WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world.
Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time.

Today's event takes place on the site of the former St Paul's church, sadly demolished in 1972. It seemed appropriate, especially at this time of the year, and especially in such a rural county, to hold a harvest fesival. Remember those from your school days, when you were asked to bring in a packet of something or a tin? No need to get competitive, but please come with something suitable to recreate a harvest festival photo! After the Harvest Festival the school or church would share the gifts with local people in need. Here's how it works:
Timetable
Before 18:00 - Lurk nearby, not looking at all suspicious
18:00 - As the Cathedral bells start to strike 6pm, assemble sensibly by lining up with a partner then take a seat on the stone benches. You are allowed five minutes of talking quitely to a friend
18:05 - 'We Plough the Fields and Scatter', 'Cauliflowers Fluffy' or similar will be sung
18:10 - Bring your gifts to the front SENSIBLY and we'll take a class photo
18: 15 - Playtime
18:30 - Home time
Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
